Pomona
Cal Poly Pomona will begin construction of a new $2.5-million university bookstore and office building this week. The project, which will be located south of University Park between the University Union and the Cal Poly Kellogg Unit Foundation, is scheduled for completion in July.
The two-story structure will increase the university’s bookstore capacity by 75%, from 13,000 to 22,000 square feet. The remainder of the structure’s 44,000 square feet will house offices, classrooms, a computer store and a convenience store. Construction is being financed by the Cal Poly Kellogg Unit Foundation, a nonprofit auxiliary organization financially separate from the university. The foundation will continue to manage and operate the bookstore.
