KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — A three-vehicle traffic accident north of Klamath Falls killed three members of the same family.
Brad Hawkins, 17, and Teri Hawkins, 20, both of Anaheim, died at the scene of the accident Tuesday on Highway 97, 29 miles north of Klamath Falls.
Sean Hawkins, 19, of Carson, Wash., died later at a Klamath Falls hospital. The victims were siblings or half-siblings, Oregon State Police said.
Investigating officers said Brad Hawkins was driving south when he veered into the northbound lane, forcing the driver of a northbound car to swerve into a ditch. A truck-trailer rig that was following the northbound car then collided head-on with the Hawkins car, police said.
