The Dallas Times Herald reported that documents indicate that Sherman Blount, a Dallas realtor and sports agent, was the booster whose financial aid to a football recruit and the recruit’s family figured prominently in the NCAA’s censure last week of SMU.

Blount played football at SMU from 1969 to 1971. Blount’s dealings with the family of Sean Stopperich, a high school All-American at offensive tackle, was the critical part of the NCAA case against SMU.
