The U.S. and Japan reached a tariff agreement.

The two countries have reached agreement in principle to end duties on the sale of certain computer equipment, the U.S. Trade Representative’s office reported. A spokeswoman said the agreement would eliminate the U.S. duty on Japanese computer parts and Japan would end duties on U.S. computer systems, accessories and parts. She said the accord would go into effect after final approval by the two governments.
