Local News in Brief : 1 Killed, 1 Injured in Granada Hills Crash
A Sun Valley woman was killed and a Northridge man was in serious condition Sunday after a car crash in Granada Hills, police said.
The woman, Shirley McIntire, 51, was pronounced dead about 7:50 a.m. at San Fernando Mission Boulevard and Chimineas Avenue. She was a passenger in a car whose driver ran a stop sign while traveling south on Chimineas, Los Angeles Police Officer Frank Nuckles said. The car collided with a van going east on San Fernando Mission Boulevard, he said.
The driver of the van, Zoltan Ivahyi, 55, was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, where he was in serious condition Sunday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.
