Laffit Pincay, finishing second aboard Greinton in Sunday’s Budweiser-Arlington Million at Arlington Park, moved ahead of Bill Shoemaker in the career-purse standings among jockeys.

Greinton earned $200,000, boosting Pincay’s career purses to $102,048,656, about $30,000 more than Shoemaker.

Shoemaker, who finished fifth, worth $30,000, in the Million astride The Noble Player, wound up the day with $102,018,899 in career purses. Shoemaker has been the leader in career purses since he surpassed the record $30 million held by Eddie Arcaro, who retired in 1961.
