Heliport to Be Moved: Anaheim’s police heliport will soon be moved to accommodate a proposed condominium complex next to the Police Department. The landing site for the department’s patrol helicopters will be moved from its location behind police headquarters on Broadway and Harbor Boulevard to 901 E. Vermont Ave.--an industrial section of town--following City Council approval Tuesday. The move was one of the conditions set by the city’s Planning Commission on March 22 when it approved a 169-unit condominium complex next to the police station. The developer agreed to pay for the relocation. According to an environmental impact report, the areas affected by higher noise levels from the heliport will be within the city maintenance yard and an industrial zone. The flights “will not be over any noise-sensitive land uses.”
