Louis E. Wolfson made a bid for Churchill Downs.
Wolfson, the former owner of Harbor View Farm in Ocala, Fla., offered stockholders $120 per share cash for their holdings in an unsolicited takeover attempt, according to a statement from Churchill Downs. The offer is worth more than $46.1 million. Churchill Downs President Thomas Meeker said a meeting of the track’s board of directors will be held Sept. 10, “at which time the proposal would be carefully considered and evaluated.”
