The Alhambra City Council has voted unanimously to support a bill that would declare strikes by public employees illegal. The bill, introduced by Assemblyman Tom McClintock (R-Thousand Oaks), would reverse a state Supreme Court action earlier this year that ruled that “nonessential” public employees may strike. The proposed bill would make it illegal for all public employees to strike, said Tim Riley, legislative assistant to McClintock. Hearings on the bill will be scheduled for January, Riley said.
