Always an Inspiration, Jack Youngblood Retired Gracefully
To recognize that a career covered with glory and applause must end requires a fine sense of integrity. The athletic career is one of the hardest to leave and in the day where many attempt to linger beyond their time it is refreshing to read of a warrior who quits the field of honor with grace.
In short, Jack Youngblood’s decision to retire desplays a high standard of moral excellence, a philosophy of life advocated by that great Greek cynic, Diogenes.
I think that if Youngblood and he were ever to meet, not only would his lantern remain lighted, it would glow brighter.
