Applicants Sought for Police Chief Selection Panel
Applications are being accepted from residents who wish to serve on a 15-member advisory panel to review candidates for police chief, City Director Jess Hughston said.
Each of the seven city directors will appoint one panel member, and the eight remaining appointees will be selected by a subcommittee composed of Directors Rick Cole, Loretta Thompson-Glickman and Hughston.
Applications for the panel will be accepted until Thursday in the mayor’s office. Although no qualifications are required, Hughston said that the Board of City Directors is seeking a diverse group of applicants.
The panel is scheduled to review candidates for police chief on Sept. 20 and make a recommendation to the board, Hughston said.
