Mexico turned down a Chrysler proposal.

The government turned down the auto maker’s proposal to set up a joint venture for building heavy-duty trucks. The decision was a setback to efforts by U.S. companies to expand their investments in Mexico where the government tightly controls such projects. A spokesman for Chrysler of Mexico, said the company would appeal the decision in the next few days.
