California Amplifier Inc., a Camarillo-based maker of microwave amplifiers and other satellite-communications equipment, named Donald W. Fuller president and chief executive in addition to his role as chairman, which he had held since February. The appointment is effective Sept. 30. He succeeds founder Jacob Inbar, who decided “to take a less active role” in management, the company said. Inbar will act as a consultant and remain on the board.

Fuller joins California Amplifier from Huntington Beach-based Tecstor, where he was chairman and chief executive. Before that, he was chairman and chief executive of Microdata Corp. in Irvine, now a subsidiary of McDonnell Douglas Corp.
