A three-alarm fire destroyed a Fallbrook publishing company building early Sunday, sheriff’s deputies reported. Firefighters from Vista, San Marcos, Oceanside, Camp Pendelton, Rainbow, Escondido and Fallbrook fought the 2:30 a.m. blaze in the 300 block of West Aviation Road.

Damage to the the Aero Publishing Inc. building and contents, owned by Fallbrook resident Ernest Gentle, was estimated at $800,000. Sheriff’s deputies said it took four hours to suppress the flames in the 15,000-square-foot building where Gentle had printed books on aviation and space for 20 years. Gentle said the building space had just been leased to outside commercial printers Saturday. He said he plans to rebuild.
