No. 10-ranked San Diego State won a pair of matches Friday to advance to today’s semifinals of its own women’s volleyball tournament at Peterson Gym.

Led by Angelica Jackson’s 8 kills, the Aztecs knocked off Iowa, 15-6, 15-9, 15-11, in Friday’s early match, then came back to beat California, 15-4, 15-9, 13-15, 15-4, thanks, in part, to freshman Kris Morton, who had 10 kills and 12 blocks.

In today’s semifinals, SDSU will take on Houston, which finished second in Pool 2. The other semifinal match will feature Arizona State against No. 14-ranked Texas A&M.; The championship match is scheduled for tonight at 7:30.
