Orange : Insurance Advice Service for Seniors Is Expanded
- Share via
An Orange County Health Planning Council program that teaches senior citizens the ins and outs of dealing with medical insurance will grow considerably with the aid of a $57,000 grant recently awarded to the organization by the state Department of Aging.
The grant will enable the council to offer the program--now available at just four locations--at an additional 38 senior centers. The three-day training sessions cover such areas as filling out Medicare forms, obtaining reimbursement, appealing claim denials and selecting policies.
The Medicare Counseling and Training sessions are offered free. For more information, call (714) 832-1841.
The council is also seeking volunteers for the program. Participants can receive training in classes scheduled Oct. 8-10 at St. Joseph Hospital, 1100 W. Stewart Drive, Orange.
