Two men were arrested Saturday on suspicion of growing marijuana, sheriff’s deputies reported. Dennis P. Schneider, 44, a self-employed wood worker, and John M. Harrington, 35, a ranch hand, were arrested in the 36000 block of Montezuma Valley Road in Ranchita.
Deputies said the arrests culminated an investigation and search by the Sheriff’s Department’s rural enforcement detail. Deputies seized 105 eight-foot-tall marijuana plants and an undetermined amount of cured marijuana.
The suspects were booked into County Jail in Vista on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to sell. Schneider was released on $2,000 bail and Harrington was held without bail on outstanding warrants, a jail spokeswoman said.
