John Milner testified that he used his status as a retired baseball player to get past guards and into Pittsburgh Steeler football games, where he purchased cocaine from accused pusher Robert (Rav) McCue.
Milner, testifying under a grant of immunity from prosecution on the fifth day of baseball’s second cocaine trial, said he also bought the drug from McCue at golf outings and picnics and while the pair drove to watch professional wrestling at the Civic Arena.
Milner said he considered his purchases from McCue as simple transactions between friends. He considered such deals criminal, he said, only “if I got caught.”
