An Oceanside woman died early Tuesday in a blaze that gutted her home on Fire Mountain Drive, a Fire Department spokesman said.
The badly burned body of Ruth J. O’Holleran, 55, was found in the back bedroom after 11 firefighters fought the blaze for nearly three hours.
The cause of the fire, which caused about $45,000 damage, is under investigation by the Oceanside Fire Department.
O’Holleran’s nephew told investigators that he left for a store about 1 a.m. and returned about half an hour later to discover the house ablaze.
