Belgian Fish Dying

BRUSSELS —
Thousands of dead fish, victims of unseasonal warm weather, are choking the Meuse River in Belgium. A spokesman for the Belgian Environment Ministry said Wednesday that the dying fish have been found gasping for air in the river since Sunday. The recent warm weather and a lack of rain have caused the river’s oxygen level to drop, he said.
