EWOKS MEET THE TEEK

Pals George Lucas and Steven Spielberg square off (in a manner of speaking) when the ABC movie “Ewoks: The Battle for Endor” airs Nov. 24 at 8 p.m., directly opposite “Amazing Stories.”

“We kind of groaned when we found out,” said a Lucasfilm spokeswoman.

The follow-up to last year’s “The Ewok Adventure” finds that friendly furball Wicket (played by Warrick Davis) reteamed with young Aubrey Miller in a quest to save the forest moon that is home to the Ewoks. Wilford Brimley is a cantankerous old geezer accompanied by a creature named Teek, which, hyped the Lucasfilm rep, “may steal the show.”

Meanwhile, over at NBC, “Amazing Stories” will feature the Clint Eastwood-directed “Vanessa in the Garden,” a romantic fantasy starring East-wood gal-pal Sondra Locke and Harvey Keitel. “It’s adult--it’s not a kid’s thing. We think it’s going to appeal to an entirely different audience (than Ewok-lovers),” said a series spokeswoman.

Ratings don’t speak so well of the series: The second episode got a 29 share (compared to the first week’s 34), making it the week’s 24th-rated program (down from No. 12).
