A third arrest warrant was issued for University of Texas football player Edwin Simmons for failure to pay speeding tickets.
Municipal Judge Wilfredo Aguilar of Austin said he issued the warrant for Simmons’ arrest for failure to pay an Aug. 7 ticket for going 40 m.p.h. in a 30-m.p.h. zone. The fine was $66.50.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said that Simmons has six traffic convictions since May 1984.
