Nater Is Expected to Play for the Clippers Against His Old Team, the Lakers, Tonight

The Lakers and Clippers meet for the only time during the National Basketball Assn. exhibition season tonight at 7:30 at the Sports Arena.

While the Lakers have won two of their three exhibition games, the Clippers have won only two of five. After tonight’s game, the Lakers play the Boston Celtics at the Forum Thursday and Saturday, and the Clippers play Golden State Thursday in Salinas and at Portland Saturday to close out the exhibition season.

Center Swen Nater should see his first action with the Clippers tonight. After the Clippers signed Nater to an offer sheet in late September, the Lakers had 15 days to re-sign Nater or lose him. That period ran out Friday, and Nater has practiced with the Clippers the last two days.
