Fire Destroys Condominium Building in Thousand Oaks

Share

A four-unit condominium building in Thousand Oaks was destroyed Monday by a fire of unknown origin, a Ventura County Fire Department spokeswoman said. There were no injuries, she said.

There was no immediate estimate of the value of the building on Avenida del Platino, the spokeswoman said.

Monday’s blustery winds, which fanned several other blazes in Ventura County and the Malibu area, carried embers that ignited the wood-shake roofs of two condominium units near the burning structure, the spokeswoman said. But firefighters quickly extinguished the fire with little damage to the other units, she said.

Also Monday, a small brush fire blackened 12 acres along the California 23 near Olsen Road in northern Thousand Oaks, the spokeswoman said. No structures were damaged and there were no injuries, she said.
