Bowling Green Wins Again, 34-14
Bernard White, the nation’s leading college scorer, ran for three touchdowns, and quarterback Brian McClure passed for another score as Bowling Green defeated Northern Illinois, 34-14, in a Mid-American Conference game Saturday.
White moved his touchdown total to 17 for the season as the Falcons lifted their record to 9-0 overall and 7-0 in the MAC. NIU fell to 2-3 in the league and 2-6 overall.
McClure, with his 221 passing yards, moved into second place on the all-time career passing list with 9,658 yards. McClure set another record with 30 games with more than 200 passing yards in his college career.
McClure passed to Greg Meehan 63 yards for a score in the third quarter, and White had scoring runs of 2, 1 and 5 yards. Kicker Paul Silvi added field goals of 24 and 46 yards to account for the rest of the Bowling Green points.
