The City Council unanimously approved a measure condemning what it called the “message of anti-Semitism, bigotry and hatred” espoused by controversial Muslim leader Louis Farrakhan.

In the action taken Monday, council members supported a report by the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations that asked Carson and other cities to approve such a measure and to call on black and Jewish community leaders “to take the necessary steps to achieve a deeper understanding of each other.”
