Fountain Valley : Voss Is Named Mayor; Neal Mayor Pro Tem

In a 4-1 vote, the City Council has elected Fred Voss to succeed Ben Nielsen as the city’s mayor. Council member James E. Neal was chosen as mayor pro tem. Both will serve one-year terms.

Also at the Tuesday meeting, the council, acting as the city’s Agency for Community Development, approved the sale of $30 million in bonds to attract businesses. The motion passed 4 to 1, with Nielsen dissenting.
