A lawyer from Marina del Rey was disbarred by the state Supreme Court for misconduct that included the theft of about $150,000 from 19 clients. Eugene Bambic’s frequent practice was to settle a case without telling his client, then forge the client’s name on the settlement check and keep most or all of the money, the court said. Bambic was suspended from law practice in 1983 after his conviction on theft charges. He was sentenced to four years in prison, but was released this May.
