Tudor Apologizes, but Now Fan Is Upset About the Apology

Share

I’m glad you did us readers the service of printing John Tudor’s “apology to the media.” I now understand the following:

--Gordon Edes is the most important person in the world, and clearly the most magnanimous. To insult him under terrific pressure is a threat to motherhood and apple pie. How gracious of him to allow those vicious ingrate baseball players to grovel at his feet.

--Talking to the press is far more important than merely playing baseball. Any player who is not forever grateful for the chance to answer personal questions while walking from the shower to his locker is clearly unnatural and rude. No matter that this man was a gentleman on the field, since the game on the field is clearly of small importance.

--All fans are sheep. Forgive me for assuming that Mr. Tudor might have had a point when he threatened to punch you guys out. I see now that it was Gordon Edes who won the pennant, and no mere baseball player.

Wake up, you fools! You are ruining a sport you could be saving.
