L. A. Architects Win Awards

Los Angeles architects Carl Maston and Arthur F. O’Leary have received the California Council, American Institute of Architects, Special Awards for Excellence.

Announcement of the awards was made at a luncheon during the 1985 California Council Conference at the Hyatt Lake Tahoe.

Maston, who helped create the Los Angeles Community Design Center and served on several city agencies, including the Los Angeles Planning Commission, received the Excellence in Public Service Award for his many years of dedicated service to the city. O’Leary, a partner in the architectural firm of O’Leary Terasawa Takahashi & De Chellis and author of two professional practice reference books, received the Excellence in Architect Service Award for his contributions as an expert and spokesman on issues of professional practice.
