Two spectators were killed and a third was in a hospital in serious condition when a car competing in the Montbrison national auto rally spun off the road at Montbrison, France, police said.
The three men were crushed against an embankment when a Porsche driven by the French Rolland-Chasseing team spun off the road into a group of spectators on a curve during a timed section.
Race organizers from the Forez Automobile Club released no details and refused comment on the accident. Both drivers walked away from the incident unharmed.
