Two Bank Robbers Have Trade Marx
Some Marx Brothers look-alikes have been performing in the Los Angels area lately, but few people are laughing.
Two middle-aged men, whom FBI agents have dubbed “the Marx Brothers,” have robbed six banks of more than $150,000 since July, 1984. Mimicking the famous comedy team, the robbers disguise themselves in old suits, curly Harpo-style wig and Groucho - style mustache.
“It’s kind of fun to watch them and try to figure out at what point they’re going to make their first mistake,” said Special Agent Bill Rehder.
The fun is tempered with worry, though. Instead of waving cigars, they use guns, Rehder said, adding: “They’re a couple of very accomplished robbers.”
