Santa Monica : Council Votes Stipend for Itself
The City Council has voted to pay itself a small stipend for the work it performs as the Parking Authority and the Housing Authority. Council members will receive $25 for each meeting they attend as representatives of either agency, but are limited to $100 a month in payments. Previously, council members were not compensated. The Parking Authority pay plan was unanimously approved. Mayor Christine E. Reed opposed the motion to provide compensation for Housing Authority meetings.
