A 21-year-old Los Angeles woman who said she was abducted Tuesday and raped several times in a van was found Thursday by Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s deputies when she phoned for help from a highway call box after being dumped by her captors, authorities said.

The woman, whose name was not released, was found standing beside a call box on Interstate 14 about 9:20 a.m. near Acton, Sheriff’s Sgt. Robert Sinclair said. She was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released, Sinclair said.

The woman told Los Angeles police that she was forced into a van Tuesday morning near Santa Fe Avenue and Olympic Boulevard in Los Angeles by two men armed with a handgun, Detective Jim Dillons said. She said she spent the next two days in the van and was sexually assaulted several times, Dillon said.
