No. 4 USC Defeats SDSU in Volleyball

All-America outside hitter Tracy Clark had 14 kills Saturday night to lead No. 4-ranked USC to a 15-12, 15-4, 15-4 victory over 18th-ranked San Diego State in a nonconference women’s volleyball in Los Angeles.

Thanks to Clark’s hot hitting, the Trojans needed 1 hour, 5 minutes to dispose of the Aztecs. USC improved to 21-8 with the win, while San Diego State fell to 23-17. The Aztecs were paced by freshman middle-blocker Kris Morton, who had 12 kills.

In other volleyball action:

Santa Clara 3, USIU 1--Siobhan Saunders posted 10 kills, 4 service aces and 11 digs to help the Broncos defeat the Gulls, 6-15, 15-8, 15-1, 15-3, in a West Coast Athletic Conference match at Santa Clara. USIU was led by Claudia Johnson, who had 10 kills, 14 digs and 3 blocking assists. The Broncos improved to 7-4 in conference, 16-16 overall. The Gulls fell to 5-5 and 13-15.
