UCI Men 5th, Women 7th at District Championships
The UC Irvine men’s cross-country team finished fifth Saturday at the NCAA District 8 Championships at Medina, Wash.
Arizona won the district, followed by UCLA (75), Stanford (95), Oregon (97) and UCI (126).
The Anteaters’ Rusty Knowles placed sixth overall, covering the 10-kilometer course in 30:02.
In the women’s race, UCI finished seventh with 149 points. Oregon was the winner followed by Washington State and UCLA.
The Anteaters’ Beth McGrann placed 17th overall.
The first- and second-place teams from the men’s and women’s divisions will advance to the NCAA championships in Milwaukee on Nov. 25.
