SANTEE — A Santee woman was shot in the head Monday as she drove through an intersection in that city, and her boyfriend was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, a San Diego County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
Mary K. Dunn, 23, was shot once in the head about 2:40 p.m. as she drove through the intersection of Willow Grove Avenue and Singing Wood Way in Santee. Her boyfriend, Roderick Floyd Villineuve, 30, of Santee, was later questioned by sheriff’s deputies and arrested in connection with the shooting, the spokesman said.
Witnesses said Dunn was shot by a man standing at the intersection who fled on foot.
Dunn was driven to El Cajon Valley Hospital by a friend and was listed in stable condition Monday.
Homicide detectives recovered a weapon at the scene and are investigating, the spokesmen said.
