An Anaheim man suffering from Parkinson’s disease apparently committed suicide with his wife by running their car in a locked garage, police said Monday.

The bodies of Harold J. Stone and Mildred Stone, both 48, were found by their son, David, in the front seat of their car in their garage at 206 W. Winston Road just before 9 p.m. Sunday.

The engine was running and a hose was funneling exhaust fumes from the tailpipe into the rear window, police said.

David Stone, 23, told police that his father was scheduled to be admitted to a local hospital and his mother feared being alone. Parkinson’s disease is degenerative and causes tremors and muscular rigidity.

David Stone would only say Monday night that, speaking for his siblings: “None of us feel that it was wrong. They did what they wanted to do.”
