Acting Los Angeles County Marshal Robert F. Mann, who has been serving in the position for the last 17 months, was elected to the job permanently Wednesday night in a vote by the county’s Municipal Court judges.

Marshal’s Capt. Ron Downing said Mann, 42, received 91 votes, 12 more than he needed to get the job.

Others receiving votes from 126 judges included Deputy Los Angeles Police Chief Daniel R. Sullivan and Cmdr. C. L. Johnson of the marshal’s office, Downing said.
