Phoenix LPGA Tourney Raises Purse to $250,000

PHOENIX, Ariz. —
The purse for the 1986 Samaritan Turquoise LPGA golf tournament has been increased by $100,000 to $250,000, officials announced.
The increase was due to financial support from a new sponsor, the Standard Register newspaper.
The 72-hole event is scheduled for Feb. 17-23 at the Arizona Biltmore Country Club here.
