Share

Construction is scheduled to begin in February--with completion targeted for June, 1987--on the $30-million, 215,000-square-foot engineering building at UC San Diego.

The prime architect is Buss, Silvers, Hughes & Associates, with Earl Walls Associates assisting in the preparation on construction drawings. The latter firm specializes in the design of technically oriented structures.

Called Engineering Unit I, the multipurpose building will be one of the largest single construction jobs on the La Jolla campus of the university. The building will include laser labs and clean rooms, among other special facilities.
