A Hacienda Heights man was killed after he was struck by a car that had drifted across two lanes of a freeway. Edwin Allen, 38, of Walnut was driving east on the Pomona Freeway at about 60 m.p.h. when he drifted onto the shoulder and struck Louis Harrison, 30, who was standing by his car, California Highway Patrol Officer Janet Engler said. Allen kept driving, but was chased by an off-duty Los Angeles police officer who had witnessed the incident. Allen pulled off the freeway about a half-mile from the scene and was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and drunk driving.
