Motorist, 80, Crashes Into Garage Wall, Dies
An 80-year-old Florida man died Wednesday afternoon when he drove a car into a wall in a Van Nuys parking garage, a coroner’s investigator said.
The victim, Morris Wasoff, was returning with his daughter from a car repair shop when he entered the underground garage in her apartment building at 15049 Burbank Blvd., said Phil Campbell, a coroner’s investigator. They were driving separate cars.
Wasoff missed a turn in the garage, Campbell said. He accelerated, driving the length of the garage and striking a wall, Campbell said.
A coroner’s investigator pronounced Wasoff dead at the scene from multiple traumatic injuries at 4:19 p.m.
