Fishing Report : Lakes Closed Due to Insurance Troubles
A couple of popular Southern California reservoirs have been closed temporarily because of liability insurance problems.
Neither Vail Lake nor Lake Henshaw, both noted for good trout catches as well as for big channel catfish and largemouth bass, will be open for fishing until further notice.
Both were insured by the same company, which recently went out of business. San Francisco-based Warner Resort Co. operates the fishing concessions at both lakes and is trying to obtain a new carrier. Vail Lake is in Riverside County. Henshaw is in San Diego County, east of Escondido.
Managers at both lakes said they hoped to reopen by early January.
