Miami Dolphin owner Joe Robbie, calling the occasion “just a pause in our impossible dream,” officially broke ground at the Dolphins Stadium project.

In addition to sodding a full football field, complete with a Dolphin logo and crooked goal posts, Robbie brought in a marching band and the Dolphin cheerleaders.

Work on the proposed 73,000-seat stadium actually began months ago when bulldozers started clearing the site. The first concrete foundations for the arena will begin taking shape this week, Robbie said.
