Donald Fehr, executive director of the Major League Players Assn., said that the player representatives from the 26 major league baseball teams are generally unhappy with baseball’s approach to the drug-testing issue. A number of teams, including the Dodgers, have included mandatory drug-testing clauses in player contracts.

“I’m not trying to prejudge (the players’ opinions), but a lot of people . . . feel they’re being unjustly put in the position of having a cloud hanging over their head,” said Fehr, adding that the issue will be discussed today by the union’s executive board, meeting in Hawaii.
