Orange : College Campus to Be Dedicated Next Week

Share

Rancho Santiago College’s new Orange campus will be formally dedicated at 11 a.m. Friday in the campus courtyard at 8045 E. Chapman Ave.

The main campus of the community college, formerly Santa Ana College, is in Santa Ana. For 15 years, however, college officials and residents of the Orange area have sought to establish a branch in that community.

Ground breaking for the Orange campus was held Sept. 20, 1984, and the campus’s first classes began last August.

A bronze campus dedication plaque will be unveiled during the Dec. 13 ceremony by college district board member Vernon Evans and Orange Mayor James Beam. Also, the student government of the college will seal a time capsule scheduled to be opened in 1995.
