Former Indiana University basketball star Landon Turner, partially paralyzed from a 1981 car accident, signed an out-of-court settlement with the Ford Motor Co., his lawyer said.

The agreement included a non-disclosure clause forbidding either side from revealing details of the matter.

Turner sued Ford in in 1983, claiming the roof of his 1973 Ford LTD gave him no protection when the car overturned near Columbus, Ind.

Turner specified no dollar amount in the suit, but asked the car company to pay his medical expenses and compensate him for lost earnings from a possible career in professional basketball.
