A Sepulveda bar operator has been fined $1,000 and placed on two years’ probation after pleading no contest to permitting more than twice as many people as allowed to jam into his tavern.

Robert L. Kyker, 51, of Chatsworth was sentenced Thursday in Los Angeles Municipal Court on one count of overcrowding and one of blocking fire exits at the Mona Lisa bar, 16141 Roscoe Blvd.

Kyker was cited after fire inspectors counted 174 patrons at the bar on Aug. 17. The bar, which Kyker leases, has an approved occupancy of 81, a spokesman for the city attorney’s office said Friday.
