Pacoima Man Gets 22 Years in Molestation
A 31-year-old Pacoima man was sentenced Friday to 22 years in state prison after being convicted by a Van Nuys Superior Court jury of molesting two of his girlfriend’s daughters.
The man, Frank Padilla Mendibles, was found guilty on July 10 of forcible child molestation involving the two girls. The acts reportedly took place between October, 1981, and January, 1983, when the girls were 8 and 10 years old.
Mendibles was acquitted of similar charges involving a third daughter, who was 11.
Judge Richard G. Kolostian said Mendibles showed a “high degree of callousness.”
Mendibles could have received a maximum sentence of 30 years. He will receive credit for three years he has already served and be eligible for parole in about nine years.
